About me

I am Myrella Masseli, an interior and product designer, a specialist in neuroarchitecture, with postgraduate training in Art, Culture and Education.

My relationship with spaces has always gone beyond aesthetics. An environment is not only what we see: it also influences how we feel, rest, work and relate to one another.

I believe in a more human interior design, one that considers not only colors, materials and furniture, but also the people who will live in the space, their stories, routines and changes over time.

I work from the idea that your house is your home, not a showroom. Design is not a luxury, it is a right, and so it has to reach people who rent, people who live in forty square meters and people on a tight budget.

This conviction did not come from a commercial strategy. In my specialization in neuroarchitecture, I dedicated my final project to the sense of belonging of children who live in residential care institutions. That is where I understood, through method and not rhetoric, that a well-designed space can contribute to how a person feels safe in the world. Today I bring that same technical care to ordinary homes, which is where most of life happens.

I am observant by nature. I like to understand before proposing and to listen before designing.

Maybe that is why I don't believe in spaces created only to be beautiful. For me, a good project has to make sense: it welcomes the people who live there, makes the routine easier, respects individuality and follows the different stages of life.

In recent years, my interest has turned to longevity, aging in place, ergonomics and autonomy: environments that accompany the aging of their residents without giving up beauty, identity and comfort.

Because I believe that the home, and every space we inhabit, also takes part in who we are, how we feel and the way we live.

Shall we talk about your space?
